Check out some helpful resources regarding hurricanes and flooding from the NIEHS.
The National Institute of Environment Health Sciences (NIEHS) has many resources which help to provide health, safety and environmental education in the aftermath of human-made and natural disasters, such as hurricanes and flooding. Some resources include a hurricane training tool, flood training tool, mold remediation training tool, debris removal training tool and more. Resources are available in English and Spanish, and some in Vietnamese.
In particular, NIEHS now has information on urban flooding available:
- Urban Flooding and Worker Health Effects
- Urban Flooding Fact Sheet
- Inundaciones Urbanas: Peligros y consejos de prevención
Check out these and other tools at the NIEHS Worker Training Program (WTP) website by clicking here.
