The USW Tony Mazzocchi Center stands with our union's statement on Pride Month.

Please join us this month as we take a moment to reflect on the life and legacy of Tony Mazzocchi, who our organization is named after.

Regulations are in place to protect the safety and health of workers. However, the vast amount of regulations across industries and states often makes it difficult to stay informed and updated.

Did you know that you have a right to know what dangerous substances you are working with and what protections are available?

There’s an old saying, “If you’re going through hell, keep going,” that is, forge on until you get to some other place. For too many American workers, hell, is simply injury or even death at the workplace. Union-centered health and safety programs are meant to get us to another place, a safer place, a space where our members can freely work on real solutions to hazards at the workplace. And that’s exactly what United Steelworkers (USW) Local Union 10-234 in Trainer, Pa., has been doing for many years. And now, the local has received solid validation for their hard work.

Did you know that OSHA has a Whistleblower Protection Program that enforces the protection of workers who report health and safety hazards from retaliation?

United Steelworkers (USW) District 4 recently had its first in-person health and safety training since the pandemic contributed to the closing of in-person training sessions.

The training on April 22, 2021, at Republic Steel was attended by 10 members from USW Local Union 2603 in Blasdell, N.Y. The district received positive feedback from the company, who said attendees received excellent information about crane safety.
